Henry IV, 2014

William Shakespeare

Directed by Kalika Duck
Costume design
             by Jay Brian

Set against the industrial disputes of Britain in the 1980's, the costumes were heavily influenced by the 80's subcultures, especially the Punks - for Prince Hal's band of roughs - and New Romantics for the Royal Family

The colours of the play were taken from the Union Flag, red for Punks, white for Royals, blue for workers.

My part was to design the jewellery, mostly to adorn the royal's coats and act as epulettes and other military decorations, but including some punk "hardware".
