A time and space traveller, whose machine can theoretically take any form, but is stuck in the shape of a London Police Box. He is accompanied by beings he encounters on his travels. Discontinued, it survived as audio dramas

Futuristic. Suspened in cryo-sleep Dave Lister of the Mining Ship 'Red Dwarf', awakes after millions of years to find his only companions are the ship's computer, a hologram of his dead room mate, and a creature who evolved from his pet cat.

 

 

 Stargate

Movie.

An alien artifact is discovered that allows instantaneous interstellar travel. A team is sent through the portal or StarGate and discover a world ruled by Egyptian Myth.
